it's funny we spend all this money on name brand reels, rods, swivels, hooks, lures, split rings, solid rings. But then we buy no-name kevlar cord on Amazon from emma kits, china. I wonder if this is the weak point ???

Ran to the dump today out of Westport MA. Ran into a big mass of mackerel at the southwest shoal but no predators. Was hardpressed to find a single shearwater from the claw out to the dump. You could hear the Vineyard Wind operation hammering the turbine shafts in from 5 miles away. Super frustrating day, gotta think all that construction has something to do with it.

I like penn rods, but Imma stick to Daiwa reels. The price to performance is unbeatable and those things have never failed me.

You could just cast a pogie on a hook over there to get em going too. Just hooking one striper gets the rest excited. Not sure why but they school and start getting riled up over anything.
